  • Term: 2015-2016
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Zoning and Planning

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 4, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 12, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 4, 2015 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 2015. The committee met in executive session on March 26, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 15, 2015 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 29, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 7, 2015, making it Chapter 31 of the session laws.
