The Story

On March 12, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 12, 2015 and was referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 2015. The committee held work sessions on March 31, 2015 and April 8, 2015. The committee met in executive session on April 9, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1238h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1238h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 29, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On April 29, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 7, 2015 the Senate adopted “Sen. Boutin Concurs with House Amendment #1238h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2015-1733EBA) was adopted on a voice vote on May 19, 2015. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 28, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2015-1733e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 3, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 12, 2015, making it Chapter 152 of the session laws. It took effect on August 11, 2015.
