The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0495s). The committee's amendment (0495s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 5, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On March 5, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 14–10, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 19, 2015 the Senate adopted the motion that it ought to pass on a roll call 14–10, but its third reading was left pending. On March 19, 2015 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Bradley. The bill died on the table under Senate Rule 3-23 at adjournment on September 16, 2015, having been set aside and never taken back up.
