HCR 3 (2015)
applying to Congress to call a convention of states under the United States Constitution.
- Status: Died on the table
- Term: 2015-2016
- House committee: State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs
- Subject: State Government
The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on February 13, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 19, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0423h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on March 4, 2015. On March 4, 2015 the House voted to lay it on the table on a division vote 205–101. On March 12, 2015 the House failed “Remove from Table (Rep Edelblut)” on a division vote 71–228. The bill died on the table when the session ended on November 18, 2015, having been set aside and never taken back up.
