The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 5, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 10, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0280h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0280h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 18, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On February 18, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 12, 2015 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held public hearings on May 6, 2015 and May 20, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1862s). The committee's amendment (1862s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 28, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On May 28, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 3, 2015 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1862s (Rep J. Belanger)” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2284e) was adopted on a voice vote on June 11, 2015. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2015-2284EBA) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 13, 2015, making it Chapter 236 of the session laws.
