The Story

The committee met in executive session on February 17, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0435h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0435h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 4, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On March 4, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 12, 2015 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 6, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1735s). The committee's amendment (1735s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 21, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On May 21, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 3, 2015 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1735s (Rep J. Belanger)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 6, 2015, making it Chapter 193 of the session laws. It took effect on September 4, 2015.
