  • Term: 2015-2016

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 10, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 19, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 11, 2015 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 19, 2015 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 8, 2015. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1273s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1273s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 30, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On April 30, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 3, 2015 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1273s (Rep A. Christie)” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2190e) was adopted on a voice vote on June 11, 2015. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2015-2190EBA) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 13, 2015, making it Chapter 234 of the session laws.
