The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 12, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 17, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 10–9 to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 4, 2015 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 5, 2015 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 1, 2015. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1229s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1229s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 9, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On April 9, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 6, 2015 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1229s (Rep Introne)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 14, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 2, 2015, making it Chapter 68 of the session laws.
