The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 29, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 5, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. A floor amendment (0133h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 4, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On March 4, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 5, 2015 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 1, 2015. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1231s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1231s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 9, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On April 9, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 6, 2015 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1231s (Rep C. Christiensen)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 14, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 2, 2015, making it Chapter 67 of the session laws.
