The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 4, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 18, 2015 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 12, 2015 and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 9, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on April 15, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 5, 2015, making it Chapter 7 of the session laws.
