The Story
It was introduced on January 7, 2015 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 22, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 19, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 11–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0379h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0379h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 11, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On March 11, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 19, 2015 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 8, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 30, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 7, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 2, 2015, making it Chapter 50 of the session laws.
