The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2014 and referred to the Senate Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 11, 2014. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2014-0623s). The committee's amendment (0623s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 13, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On March 13, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 20, 2014 and was referred to the House Public Works and Highways committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 1, 2014. The committee met in executive session on April 16, 2014 to vote on its recommendation. The committee reported: Refer to Interim Study by a vote of 15–1. On April 23, 2014 the House adopted “Refer to Interim Study” on a voice vote. The committee held work sessions on May 13, 2014 and June 24, 2014. The committee met in executive session on October 21, 2014 to vote on its recommendation. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Not Recommended for Future Legislation”, by a vote of 12 to 4.
