  • Term: 2013-2014

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2014 and referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 21, 2014. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 30, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 13, 2014 and was referred to the House Public Works and Highways committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 1, 2014. The committee held a work session on April 22, 2014. The committee met in executive session on April 23, 2014 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2014-1534h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2014-1534h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 30, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On April 30, 2014 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 30, 2014 the House adopted “Third Reading” on a division vote. On April 30, 2014 the House failed “Reconsideration Third Reading (Rep Lambert)” on a roll call 133–202. On May 8, 2014 the Senate adopted “Sen. Rausch Concurs with House Amendment #1534h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (1854eba) was adopted on a voice vote on May 15, 2014. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 22, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2014-1854e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 28, 2014, making it Chapter 290 of the session laws.
