SB 326-LOCAL (2014)

relative to procedural requirements for certain residents of nursing and assisted living facilities.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2013-2014
  • House committee: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs
  • Senate committee: Health, Education and Human Services
  • Subject: Public and Mental Health
  • Chapter law: 138

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2014 and referred to the Senate Health, Education and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 4, 2014. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2014-1059s). The committee's amendment (1059s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 27, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On March 27, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on April 1, 2014 and was referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2014. The committee met in executive session on April 16, 2014 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 23, 2014 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2014-1644eba) was adopted on a voice vote on May 5, 2014. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 15, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2014-1644e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 27, 2014, making it Chapter 138 of the session laws.
