The Story

The committee met in executive session on February 5, 2013 and February 26, 2013. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held a work session on November 6, 2013. The committee met in executive session on November 19, 2013 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2013-2427h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2427h) was adopted on a voice vote on January 8, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On January 8, 2014 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on February 19, 2014 and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 11, 2014. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2014-1301s). The committee's amendment (1301s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 17, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On April 17, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 14, 2014 the House adopted “Non-Concur with Senate Amendment #1301s (Rep A.
