establishing the right-to-know grievance commission.

  • Status: Died on the table
  • Term: 2013-2014
  • House committee: Judiciary
  • Subject: Right to Know

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2014 and referred to the House Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 23, 2014. The committee held a work session on February 11, 2014. The committee met in executive session on February 18, 2014, February 20, 2014 and March 4, 2014. The majority recommended that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2014-0658h), and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 9–8. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 25, 2014 the House voted to lay it on the table on a division vote 248–66, on a motion by Rep. Chandler. The bill died on the table when the session ended on September 17, 2014, having been set aside and never taken back up.
