HB 1453 (2014)

relative to procedures of the board of podiatry.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2013-2014
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 103

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2014 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 28, 2014. The committee met in executive session on February 4, 2014 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 5, 2014 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 13, 2014 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 9, 2014. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2014-1303s). The committee's amendment (1303s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 17, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On April 17, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 7, 2014 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1303s” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Lucy Weber. The bill was enrolled on May 15, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 11, 2014, making it Chapter 103 of the session laws. It took effect on August 10, 2014.
