The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2014 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 30, 2014. The committee met in executive session on February 4, 2014 to vote on its recommendation. The committee's amendment (0410h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 5, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On March 5, 2014 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 13, 2014 and was referred to the Senate Health, Education and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 15, 2014. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 24, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 5, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 11, 2014, making it Chapter 98 of the session laws.
