The Story

The committee met in executive session on February 11, 2014, February 20, 2014 and March 4, 2014. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2014-0765h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2014-0765h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 19, 2014, changing the text of the bill. On March 19, 2014 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 15, 2014. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 1, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (1779e) was adopted on a voice vote on May 8, 2014. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 15, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2014-1779eba) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 22, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 28, 2014, making it Chapter 272 of the session laws.
