The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2014 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 18, 2014. The committee met in executive session on March 4, 2014 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2014-0655h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 25, 2014 the House voted to pass it with changes as part of its consent calendar, which it adopted on a division vote 282–9. It crossed to the Senate on March 27, 2014 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 9, 2014. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 17, 2014 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (2014-1563e) was adopted on a voice vote on May 1, 2014. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 8, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2014-1563eba) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 14, 2014 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 11, 2014, making it Chapter 91 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 2014.
