The Story

On March 6, 2013 the House adopted “Rules Suspension to Allow Reporting Deadline be Moved to March 21, 2013 (Reps Shurtleff and Chandler)” on a division vote 347–16. The committee held a public hearing on March 14, 2013. The committee met in executive session on March 19, 2013 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 12–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1029h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1029h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 27, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On March 27, 2013 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 28, 2013 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 24, 2013. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2013-1608s). The committee's amendment (1608s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 23, 2013, changing the text of the bill. A floor amendment (2013-1799s), offered by Sen. Bradley, was adopted on a voice vote on May 23, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On May 23, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 5, 2013 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1608s and #1799s (Rep Weber)” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2046e) was adopted on a voice vote on June 12, 2013. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 20, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2013-2046e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 28, 2013, making it Chapter 157 of the session laws.
