The Story

The committee held work sessions on February 12, 2013 and February 19, 2013. The committee met in executive session on February 19, 2013 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0339h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0339h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 6, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On March 6, 2013 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 7, 2013 and was referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 2, 2013. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2013-1213s). The committee's amendment (1213s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 18, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On April 18, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 8, 2013 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1213s (Rep Almy)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 20, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 31, 2013, making it Chapter 35 of the session laws.
