HB 450-FN (2013)

relative to the annulment of criminal records.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2013-2014
  • House committee: Criminal Justice and Public Safety
  • Senate committee: Judiciary
  • Subject: Crimes, Criminal Procedure and Corrections
  • Chapter law: 123

The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2013 and referred to the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 7, 2013. The committee met in executive session on February 26, 2013 and February 28, 2013. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 13, 2013 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 14, 2013 and was referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 26, 2013. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2013-1297s). The committee's amendment (1297s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 2, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On May 2, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 22, 2013 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1297s (Rep Pantelakos)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 30, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 25, 2013, making it Chapter 123 of the session laws.
