  • Term: 2013-2014
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 46

The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2013 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 7, 2013. The committee met in executive session on February 21, 2013 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 13, 2013 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 14, 2013 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2013. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 2, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 8, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 4, 2013, making it Chapter 46 of the session laws.
