The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2013 and referred to the House Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 12, 2013. The committee met in executive session on February 19, 2013 and February 26, 2013. The committee voted unanimously, 11–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0449h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0449h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 13, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On March 13, 2013 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 14, 2013 and was referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 26, 2013. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2013-1125s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1125s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 18, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On April 18, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 22, 2013 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1125s (Rep Bouchard)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 30, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 25, 2013, making it Chapter 122 of the session laws.
