The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2013 and referred to the House Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 5, 2013. The committee met in executive session on February 12, 2013 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 14–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 20, 2013 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 9, 2013. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2013-1407s). The committee's amendment (1407s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 2, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On May 2, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 24–0 and ordered it to a third reading. On May 22, 2013 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1407s (Rep A.White)” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (1969e) was adopted on a voice vote on June 6, 2013. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 12, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2013-1969e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 14, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 10, 2013, making it Chapter 210 of the session laws.
