  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2013-2014
  • House committee: Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services

The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2013 and referred to the House Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 5, 2013. The committee met in executive session on February 12, 2013 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 20, 2013 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 23, 2013. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 2, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 8, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 4, 2013, making it Chapter 39 of the session laws.
