The committee's amendment (0051h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 13, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On February 13, 2013 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on February 14, 2013 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 13, 2013. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2013-0895s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0895s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 21, 2013, changing the text of the bill. On March 21, 2013 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 22, 2013 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #0895s (Rep Porter)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 30, 2013 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 25, 2013, making it Chapter 119 of the session laws.
