The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 12, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-0881s). The committee's amendment (0881s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 7, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On March 7, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1410s). The committee's amendment (1410) was adopted on a voice vote on March 28, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On March 28, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 29, 2012 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 17, 2012. The committee met in executive session on April 17, 2012 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House pass it, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 7–3. The report was placed on the regular calendar. A floor amendment (2012-1816h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 25, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On April 25, 2012 the House voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 249–81. The committee met in executive session on May 8, 2012 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2192h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2192h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 15, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On May 15, 2012 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 23, 2012 the Senate adopted “Sen. Bradley Concurs with House Amendment #1816h, #2192h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2479e) was adopted on June 6, 2012. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 6, 2012 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2012-2479e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage.
