  • Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources
  • Subject: Miscellaneous

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 19, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. A floor amendment (2012-0639s), offered by Sen. Forrester, was adopted on a voice vote on February 15, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On February 15, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 22, 2012 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 27, 2012. The committee held a work session on April 12, 2012. The committee met in executive session on May 8, 2012 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 9–3 to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On May 15, 2012 the House rejected a motion to pass it on a voice vote. On May 15, 2012 the House adopted “Lay On The Table (Rep Silva)” on a voice vote. The bill died on the table when the session ended on June 27, 2012, having been set aside and never taken back up.
