The Story
It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 31, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-0542s). The committee's amendment (0542s) was rejected on a voice vote on February 8, 2012. A floor amendment (2012-0546s), offered by Sen. Barnes, was adopted on a voice vote on February 8, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On February 8, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 8, 2012 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 6, 2012. It took effect on June 11, 2012.
