The Story

The committee held a public hearing on March 6, 2012. The committee held a work session on April 3, 2012. The committee met in executive session on April 17, 2012 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 23–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 25, 2012 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. On April 25, 2012 the House failed “Divide Motion To Lay Senate Bills On Table (Rep Weber)” on a roll call 82–204. On April 25, 2012 the House voted to lay it on the table on a division vote 195–93. On April 25, 2012 the House failed “Remove From Table (Rep Vaillancourt)” on a division vote 93–184. On May 16, 2012 the House adopted “Remove From Table (Rep L.Ober)” on a division vote 311–12. The bill was enrolled on May 30, 2012 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 7, 2012, making it Chapter 155 of the session laws. It took effect on June 7, 2012.
