relative to towable devices permitted to be towed by a motorboat.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Transportation
  • Senate committee: Transportation
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 168

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held public hearings on January 26, 2012 and February 9, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1020s). The committee's amendment (1020s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 7, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On March 7, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 8, 2012 and was referred to the House Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2012. The committee voted unanimously, 12–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 25, 2012 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. On April 25, 2012 the House failed “Divide Motion To Lay Senate Bills On Table (Rep Weber)” on a roll call 82–204. On April 25, 2012 the House voted to lay it on the table on a division vote 195–93. On May 16, 2012 the House adopted “Remove From The Table (Rep Hikel)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 30, 2012 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 7, 2012, making it Chapter 168 of the session laws. It took effect on June 7, 2012.
