The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 17, 2012. On January 25, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 13–10 and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 8, 2012 and was referred to the House Election Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2012. The committee met in executive session on May 10, 2012 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House kill it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 15, 2012 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
