The Story

On March 21, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1424s). On March 28, 2012 the Senate adopted “Special Order to the afternoon session, Without Objection”. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1424s). The committee's amendment (1424s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 28, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On March 28, 2012 the Senate took up 8 floor amendments. It adopted 2012-1495s (Sen. White), 2012-1448s (Sen. White), 2012-1467s (Sen. White, 17–7), 2012-1466s (Sen. Morse, 17–7), 2012-1469s (Sen. Prescott, 13–11) and 2012-1468s (Sen. Prescott), and rejected 2012-1474s (Sen. Prescott, 9–15) and 2012-1470s (Sen. Prescott, 2–22). On May 23, 2012 the Senate adopted “Non-concur with House Amendment #2155h; Requests C of C” on a division vote 11–9, on a motion by Sen. Prescott. On June 6, 2012 the House adopted “House Refuses to Accede to Senate Request for C of C (Rep Stepanek)” on a voice vote.
