HCO 1 (2012)
relative to implementing an election pursuant to representative districts established in the order.
- Status: Died on the table
- Term: 2011-2012
- House committee: Special Committee on Redistricting
- Subject: Miscellaneous
The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the House Special Committee on Redistricting committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 4, 2011. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. On October 12, 2011 the House adopted “Suspend House Rules to Allow Reporting Deadline to be Moved to December 23, 2011 (Rep Bettencourt)” on a division vote 267–98. The committee met in executive session on December 20, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee recommended that the House make no recommendation. On January 18, 2012 the House voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote. The bill died on the table when the session ended on June 27, 2012, having been set aside and never taken back up.
