HB 1672 (2012)

apportioning delegates to state party conventions.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Special Committee on Redistricting
  • Senate committee: Internal Affairs
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 63

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the House Special Committee on Redistricting committee. The committee held public hearings on February 21, 2012 and February 23, 2012. The committee voted unanimously, 10–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1000h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1000h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 7, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On March 7, 2012 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 7, 2012 and was referred to the Senate Internal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 4, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 25, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 2, 2012 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 14, 2012, making it Chapter 63 of the session laws.
