It crossed to the Senate on February 15, 2012 and was referred to the Senate Internal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 6, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1528s). On April 11, 2012 the Senate adopted “Special Order to the end of the Calendar, Without Objection”. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1528s). The committee's amendment (1528s) was rejected on a voice vote on April 11, 2012.
