- Term: 2011-2012

The Story
It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 24, 2012. The committee met in executive session on January 31, 2012 and February 21, 2012. The majority recommended that the House pass it, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 10–6. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 15, 2012 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 28, 2012 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2012. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1659s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1659s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 25, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On April 25, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 16, 2012 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1659s (Rep Renzullo)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 23, 2012 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 7, 2012, making it Chapter 145 of the session laws.
