HB 1522-FN (2012)

reducing the penalty for violating a local vendor ordinance.

  • Status: Died on the table
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Subject: Miscellaneous

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Municipal and County Government committee instead. The committee held public hearings on January 31, 2012 and February 7, 2012. The committee met in executive session on February 14, 2012 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House kill it, and the minority recommended that the House pass it, by a vote of 14–3. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 15, 2012 the House adopted “Lay On The Table (Rep Gandia)” on a division vote 172–119. The bill died on the table when the session ended on June 27, 2012, having been set aside and never taken back up.
