The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2012 and referred to the House Special Committee on Public Employee Pensions Reform committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 6, 2012. On February 15, 2012 the House adopted “Suspend House Rules To Allow Reporting Deadline to be Moved to March 22, 2012” on a voice vote. The majority recommended that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1163h), and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 11–4. The report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (1163h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 29, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On March 29, 2012 the House failed “Extend Debate Limit (Rep Winter)” on a division vote 111–182. On March 29, 2012 the House voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 197–104. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-1623s). The committee's amendment (1623s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 18, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On April 18, 2012 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Bradley.
