The Story

The committee voted 8–2 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0499h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (0499h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 15, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On February 15, 2012 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On February 15, 2012 the bill was referred to the Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 21, 2012. The committee met in executive session on March 20, 2012 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 9–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 28, 2012 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 28, 2012 and was referred to the Senate Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2012. The committee voted unanimously, 7–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2012-2009s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2009s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 16, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On May 16, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 17, 2012 the House adopted “House Non-Concurs with Senate AM #2009s(NT) and Requests C of C (Rep Ingbretson)” on a voice vote. On May 23, 2012 the Senate adopted “Sen. Morse Accede to House Request for Committee of Conference” on a voice vote. A committee of conference met on May 31, 2012 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill.
