HB 108 (2012)

relative to trees and roadside growth.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 24

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2011 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 2011. The committee held a work session on February 22, 2011. The committee met in executive session on February 24, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on April 28, 2011, May 17, 2011, May 19, 2011 and May 24, 2011. The committee met in executive session on October 11, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2090h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2090h) was adopted on a voice vote on January 4, 2012, changing the text of the bill. On January 4, 2012 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on February 15, 2012 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 20, 2012. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 11, 2012 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on April 18, 2012 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 2, 2012, making it Chapter 24 of the session laws.
