SB 27 (2011)

relative to speed limitations for boats.

  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Transportation
  • Senate committee: Transportation
  • Subject: Miscellaneous

The Story

It was introduced on January 19, 2011 and referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 24, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-0989s). The committee's amendment (0989s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 23, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 23, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 13–11 and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Transportation committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on April 19, 2011. The committee met in executive session on May 3, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House kill it, and the minority recommended that the House pass it, by a vote of 11–6. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On May 18, 2011 the House voted to kill it on a roll call 276–75.
