SB 26 (2011)

establishing a committee to study the classification of motor vehicles.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Transportation
  • Senate committee: Transportation
  • Subject: Study Committees and Commissions
  • Chapter law: 58

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 27, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-0095s). The committee's amendment (0095s) was adopted on a voice vote on February 3, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On February 3, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 7, 2011 and was referred to the House Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 5, 2011. The committee voted unanimously, 12–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 13, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (1446e) was adopted on April 13, 2011. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on April 27, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2011-1446e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on May 9, 2011, making it Chapter 58 of the session laws.
