The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2011 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 11, 2011. On January 19, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on January 26, 2011 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2011. The committee met in executive session on March 3, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0561h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0561h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 30, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 30, 2011 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 13, 2011 the Senate adopted “Sen. Barnes Concurs with House Amendment 0561h, NT” on a voice vote.
