SB 147-FN (2011)

relative to Medicaid managed care.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Ways and Means
  • Senate committee: Health and Human Services
  • Subject: Welfare/Medicare/Medicaid
  • Chapter law: 125

The Story

It was introduced on January 19, 2011 and referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-0790s). The committee's amendment (0790s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 16, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 16, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. A floor amendment (2011-1019s), offered by Sen. Bradley, was adopted on a voice vote on March 23, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 23, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2011. The committee met in executive session on April 21, 2011 and April 26, 2011. The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1564h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (1564h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 27, 2011, changing the text of the bill. A floor amendment (2011-1610h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 27, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On April 27, 2011 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 27, 2011 the House failed “Reconsideration (Rep Hess)” on a voice vote. On May 4, 2011 the Senate adopted “Sen. Bradley Concurs with House Amendments #1564h and #1610h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (1827e) was adopted on May 4, 2011. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 25, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2011-1827e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 2, 2011, making it Chapter 125 of the session laws.
