The Story
It was introduced on January 19, 2011 and referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 8, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-0230s). The committee's amendment (0230s) was adopted on a voice vote on February 16, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On February 16, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 16, 2011 and was referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2011. The committee held a work session on April 21, 2011. The committee met in executive session on April 21, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1573h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1573h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 4, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On May 4, 2011 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 25, 2011 the Senate adopted “Sen. Prescott Concurs with House Amendment #1573h, NT” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2262e) was adopted on June 1, 2011.
