  • Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources

  • Chapter law: 154

The Story

It was introduced on January 19, 2011 and referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 24, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-0787s). The committee's amendment (0787s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 16, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 16, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 17, 2011 and was referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 5, 2011. The committee met in executive session on May 3, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 18, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 1, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 8, 2011, making it Chapter 154 of the session laws.
