  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Fish and Game and Marine Resources
  • Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 116

The Story

It was introduced on March 2, 2011 and referred to the House Fish and Game and Marine Resources committee. On March 15, 2011 the House adopted “Suspend House Rules to Allow Reporting Deadline to Be Extended No Later Than Mar 24 and House Action No Later Than Mar 31 (Reps Bettencourt & Wallner)” on a voice vote. The committee held a public hearing on March 22, 2011. The majority recommended that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1066h), and the minority recommended that the House pass it, by a vote of 12–1. The report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (1066h) was rejected on a division vote 120–237 on March 30, 2011. On March 30, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on April 20, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 5, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 11, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 18, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 31, 2011, making it Chapter 116 of the session laws.
